Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Intelligence & Strategic Advisory
- Monitor developments from major banking regulators and industry standard setters.
- Assess potential impacts of emerging regulatory requirements on risk management frameworks, governance structures, and business activities.
- Advise executive stakeholders on regulatory priorities, implementation challenges, and strategic responses.
- Develop recommendations regarding regulatory readiness, risk exposure, and long-term compliance strategies.
- Coordinate analysis and communication related to significant regulatory developments affecting wholesale banking and capital markets operations.
Regulatory Transformation & Change Management
- Lead enterprise-wide regulatory initiatives from planning through implementation.
- Partner across risk, finance, compliance, and business functions to deliver regulatory change programs.
- Establish governance structures and operating models that support effective execution of regulatory commitments.
- Drive consistency in implementation while accommodating local regulatory requirements and business considerations.
- Provide leadership on complex remediation efforts and large-scale regulatory enhancement programs.
Governance, Oversight & Regulatory Engagement
- Oversee governance processes supporting regulatory examinations, reviews, and supervisory interactions.
- Monitor progress against regulatory commitments and ensure effective accountability for deliverables.
- Support senior management in preparing for examinations and regulatory reviews.
- Identify execution risks and escalate issues requiring leadership attention.
- Facilitate management reporting and governance forums related to regulatory matters and strategic initiatives.
Stakeholder Leadership
- Build strong relationships across risk management, finance, treasury, compliance, audit, and business leadership teams.
- Serve as a central point of coordination for regulatory initiatives requiring cross-functional engagement.
- Influence decision-making through clear communication of risks, priorities, and strategic options.
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience within banking, capital markets, financial regulation, or enterprise risk management.
- Significant experience leading regulatory programs, governance initiatives, or risk transformation efforts within a large financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. banking regulations and global regulatory frameworks affecting wholesale banking and capital markets businesses.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs across business and risk functions.
- Experience interacting with regulators, senior executives, and board-level stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to executive audiences.
- Advanced degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
