Fundamental Credit Analyst/Associate - Healthcare
The team is seeking an Investment Analyst / Associate to support fundamental credit investing with primary responsibility for Healthcare sector coverage. The role is focused on deep underwriting, idea generation, and ongoing credit monitoring across leveraged loans and high yield bonds.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental bottom‑up credit research across healthcare subsectors, including services, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and life sciences
- Build and maintain detailed financial models with base, downside, and stress scenarios
- Analyze business quality, competitive positioning, regulatory and reimbursement dynamics, and issuer‑specific risks
- Support primary and secondary market investment decisions across loans and bonds
- Monitor portfolio holdings, including earnings reviews, covenant analysis, and event‑driven developments
- Participate in management calls, lender presentations, and diligence meetings
- Prepare concise investment memos and contribute to internal investment discussions
Qualifications
- 3-8+ years of experience in credit investing, leveraged finance, restructuring, or ratings
- Direct healthcare coverage experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of capital structures, credit documentation, and downside risk assessment
- High proficiency in financial modeling and cash‑flow analysis
- Ability to evaluate regulatory and policy‑driven risks within healthcare businesses
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team‑based investment process
- CFA charterholder or progress toward the designation is a plus
