A fast‑scaling HealthTech organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Healthcare Actuarial Analyst to support advanced claims analytics across commercial and government payer populations. What You'll Do
- Analyze large, complex healthcare claims datasets to identify trends across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid populations.
- Build and refine analytical frameworks that mirror payer logic, payment timing, and seasonal claim patterns.
- Develop, maintain, and improve actuarial models using R or Python.
- Support IBNR valuation work and other actuarial reserving analyses.
- Operate autonomously in a fast‑moving environment, influencing processes and innovation without initial team‑management responsibilities.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, data science, and engineering teams to enhance the company's analytics engine.
Who We're Looking For
- Broad healthcare payer experience - exposure to both commercial payers and government lines (Medicare + Medicaid).
- Deep understanding of payer operations, payment methodologies, seasonality, timing cycles, and claims‑driven dynamics.
- Experience that ideally blends:
- A major actuarial consulting firm, and
- Direct work within at least one payer organization.
- Not niche or state‑specific-must understand the national payer landscape.
- Strong programming skills in R or Python.
- IBNR valuation experience is highly desirable.
- Highly independent, proactive, and capable of shaping processes from the ground up.
- Comfortable working fully remote with a high‑ownership mindset.
