Overview

We are seeking an experienced senior professional to play a foundational role in launching and expanding our Agricultural Commodities business in North America. This individual will leverage deep expertise in both physical and financial agricultural markets to price, execute, and manage derivatives and financing transactions for a diverse corporate and investor client base.

The position carries direct responsibility for managing linear and non‑linear risk, driving fundamental market analysis, and collaborating closely with our global team. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset and a track record of identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, strengthen client service, and implement positive change within a fast‑moving trading environment.


Group Summary

This role sits within the Commodities Trading team, part of Global Markets' Global Origination business. The team structures and executes hedging and financing solutions for investor, corporate, and commercial clients across products including futures, swaps, basis, options, and exotic derivatives. Close collaboration with Sales and partners across the broader banking platform is core to the team's mandate.


Key Responsibilities

Transaction Modeling & Financial Analysis

  • Apply strong financial and fundamental analytical skills to support effective communication with Sales teams and clients.
  • Develop transaction ideas and prepare compelling data‑driven materials to support client engagement and deal initiation.
  • Utilize all relevant trading and pricing systems with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance fundamental models to support trading and risk decisions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 7 years managing an active book of Agricultural Commodity derivatives, covering a broad product set.
  • Minimum 7 years structuring and overseeing inventory financing transactions, including both deliverable and non‑deliverable products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, interpret needs, and respond effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, VBA, Bloomberg, and other financial applications; strong command of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment with limited supervision and adapt quickly to evolving priorities.
  • Creative, analytical, and eager to learn.
  • Experience developing North American and/or global supply‑demand models across agricultural markets.
  • Ability to partner with Engineering teams to shape pricing and risk‑management tools.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Deep understanding of both physical and financial Agricultural markets.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of derivatives, including options and complex structures.
  • Familiarity with banking concepts, risk frameworks, and derivative regulations.
  • Awareness of global market trends and developments.
  • Demonstrated experience in a market‑making, client‑facing environment.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Act as a strong partner within the Commodities team to exchange insights and solve challenges.
  • Build and maintain relationships across Global Markets to drive cross‑product opportunities.
  • Mentor and coach junior talent, including Analysts and Associates.
  • Ensure exceptional client service through effective collaboration with:
    • Global Markets teams
    • Commercial and Corporate Banking
    • Engineering
    • Trade Floor Supervision
    • Market Risk
    • Onboarding, Legal, and Compliance
