Job Overview

A leading venture capital firm is seeking a Vice President of Capital Formation to support the firm's fundraising and investor relations efforts. This individual will work closely with senior partners and play a critical role in managing investor communications, due diligence processes, and fundraising operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for a professional who enjoys building relationships with investors and coordinating fundraising initiatives but is not looking for a traditional "hunter" capital raising role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior partners throughout the fundraising process
  • Manage and maintain the firm's investor pipeline and CRM system
  • Coordinate investor due diligence requests and data room activity
  • Assist in preparing fundraising materials, presentations, and investor communications
  • Participate in introductory meetings and calls with prospective investors
  • Track investor engagement, commitments, and fundraising progress
  • Coordinate follow-up communications and investor reporting activities
  • Work closely with the investment team to gather information required for diligence processes
  • Assist with investor onboarding and subscription documentation
  • Help identify potential investor prospects across family offices, RIAs, foundations, endowments, and institutional allocators

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in investor relations, capital formation, fundraising, private wealth, or client service within venture capital, private equity, growth equity, or alternative investments
  • Strong understanding of private fund structures and fundraising processes
  • Experience managing investor due diligence requests and fundraising workflows
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to interact confidently with sophisticated investors and senior executives
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and investor reporting platforms
  • Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience within venture capital, growth equity, or technology-focused investment firms
  • Exposure to family offices, RIAs, endowments, foundations, and institutional investors
  • Familiarity with subscription processes and investor onboarding
  • Experience supporting multiple fundraises or successful fund launches
