Trade Operations Executive - Oil & Petrochemicals

Key Responsibilities

  • P&L Optimization

    • Support traders in maximizing deal profitability through effective voyage planning and operational execution.
  • End-to-End Operations Management

    • Manage the full supply chain lifecycle for oil and petrochemical cargoes, from deal recap to final delivery, including payments and demurrage processes.
  • Contracting & Documentation

    • Review and provide input on deal recaps.
    • Draft, negotiate, and execute sales contracts and General Terms & Conditions (GTCs).
    • Ensure timely compliance with all critical nomination and contractual milestones.
  • Shipping & Chartering Coordination

    • Collaborate with the chartering team on vessel clearance, post-fixture optimization, and demurrage claims handling and settlement.
  • Trade Finance & Settlements

    • Maintain a working understanding of trade finance structures and credit terms.
    • Handle post-trade documentation, provisional/final pricing approvals, and payment settlements (TT).
  • Systems & Process Management

    • Utilize trading systems such as Aspect (or equivalent) for trade execution and tracking.
    • Continuously streamline workflows to improve operational efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Stakeholder Management

    • Work closely with traders, charterers, and asset teams to ensure seamless integration across functions.
    • Maintain relationships with external parties including vendors, inspectors, and terminals.
  • Risk & Compliance

    • Identify and assess operational risks; recommend controls and ensure adherence to industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Drive initiatives to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Culture & Team Contribution

    • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development within the team.

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in operations within the oil and/or petrochemical trading sector.
  • Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of trade contracts, industry practices, and regulatory frameworks in oil/chemicals trading.
  • Solid understanding of global supply chain, logistics, and procurement processes.
  • Proactive with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and mitigate operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
