Storage Engineer - HFT
Role Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, administer, and support enterprise NAS storage platforms.
- Manage and enhance enterprise backup and archival infrastructure, including disk-based and tape-based solutions.
- Monitor storage environments proactively and troubleshoot performance, capacity, and availability issues.
- Support multi-vendor storage technologies and ensure optimal platform reliability.
- Automate operational processes and routine administration tasks across storage systems.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and project teams on strategic initiatives and platform improvements.
- Assist with broader systems administration and infrastructure support activities where required.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise storage and backup administration.
- Strong experience supporting NAS storage environments within large-scale enterprises.
- Hands-on expertise with storage platforms such as NetApp, Pure Storage, VAST, or similar enterprise solutions.
- Solid experience with enterprise backup platforms, ideally including Commvault.
- Strong Linux and Windows Server administration skills.
- Good understanding of networking and systems engineering fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, and distributed systems concepts.
- Experience integrating storage platforms with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar environments.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance analysis, and operational support capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
- Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Experience supporting database platforms such as SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Exposure to data governance, archiving, or compliance-related technologies.
- Experience supporting infrastructure across multiple geographic locations.
- Financial services, trading, or low-latency technology environment experience.
