Staff Accountant
Our client, a leading P&C Reinsurance firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the financial reporting, accounting operations, and regulatory compliance functions of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Support the preparation of regulatory filings and statutory reports for Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors during audits and financial reviews.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
- Participate in system upgrades, process improvements, and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and regulatory reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
