Regional Tech Analyst | Long-bias Hedge Fund
Selby Jennings has partnered with a HK-based long-bias investment firm managing over USD 1 billion in assets, seeking to add an Asia regional Technology Equity Analyst to its investment team.
This is an opportunity to join a high performing fundamental investment platform with a long-term track record investing across Asian equities. The successful candidate will work closely with senior investors covering the regional Technology sector, with a particular emphasis on Hardware and Semiconductors across North Asia.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental equity research across the Asia Technology sector, with a focus on Hardware/Semiconductor names
- Develop investment theses and generate actionable long and short investment ideas
- Build and maintain detailed financial models on listed Technology companies
- Perform channel checks, industry research, management meetings, and supply chain analysis
- Monitor earnings, industry developments, and competitive dynamics across Hardware and Semiconductor value chains
- Present investment recommendations to be added as live positions into the PnL
- Contribute to portfolio monitoring and risk assessment across existing positions
Requirements
- Approximately 2-5 years of relevant equity research / investment experience
- Prior coverage experience within the Technology space, with exposure to Hardware / Semiconductors strongly preferred
- Buyside experience strongly preferred; candidates from hedge funds, mutual funds, or asset managers encouraged to apply
- Long/short investing experience is highly advantageous
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and fundamental research capabilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a lean investment team
- Additional exposure to Software or Internet sectors considered a plus, but not a must
- Fluency in English, with additional Asian language capabilities are advantageous
