Key Responsibilities

Investment Origination & Deal Sourcing

  • Source and originate investment opportunities across renewable energy, energy‑transition platforms, and supporting infrastructure (solar, wind, storage, hydrogen, EV infrastructure, distributed energy, etc.).
  • Build and leverage an extensive network of developers, banks, advisers, industrials, and co‑investment partners.
  • Develop thesis-driven origination and identify sectoral trends ahead of the market.

Transaction Execution

  • Lead all aspects of transaction execution including valuation, commercial analysis, structuring, due diligence, and negotiations.
  • Drive the preparation of investment committee materials and lead presentations to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage complex deal processes including bilateral negotiations, auction processes, consortium structures, and platform roll-ups.

Strategic & Leadership Contributions

  • Shape the firm's investment strategy for renewables and energy transition across Europe.
  • Provide senior leadership across the investment team, mentoring and developing junior and mid‑level professionals.
  • Build strategic relationships that strengthen the firm's market position and deal pipeline.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 12-15+ years of experience in renewable energy investments, private equity, structured equity, or project finance with a strong investment record.
  • Proven track record of originating and executing transactions in renewable energy or broader energy‑transition infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of the European renewables market, regulatory frameworks, PPAs, merchant exposure, and capital structures.
  • Experience leading deals in multiple jurisdictions.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong financial, commercial, and strategic skillset with the ability to lead complex transactions end‑to‑end.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Ability to develop investment theses and identify attractive subsectors and partnership opportunities.
  • Leadership presence, with experience guiding teams through high‑pressure deal cycles.

Education

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA a plus but not essential.

Languages

  • Fluent English required; German highly preferred.
