Investment Analyst - Long/Short Therapeutics
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and scientifically proficient Investment Analyst to join a long/short equity team with a focus on therapeutics. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, a passion for investing, and the ability to generate differentiated insights across the drug development lifecycle. This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to the Portfolio Manager and the opportunity to influence investment decisions in a concentrated portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct deep fundamental research on public therapeutics companies across all stages of development (preclinical to commercial).
- Analyze clinical trial data, regulatory pathways, competitive landscapes, and commercial potential.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks.
- Monitor key catalysts, earnings, and industry developments to update investment theses.
- Identify long and short investment opportunities with asymmetric risk/reward profiles.
- Engage with management teams, KOLs, and industry experts to inform views.
- Present high-conviction ideas and updates to the Portfolio Manager and investment team.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of buyside experience with a focus on healthcare or biotech.
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or MS) in a life sciences field preferred.
- Strong understanding of drug development, clinical trial design, and regulatory processes.
- Exceptional analytical, modeling, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, high-conviction investment environment.
