Head of Accounting
A major player in the global financial services industry, is looking for a Head of Accounting, who will play a critical role in supporting the Group's strategic initiatives, including M&A activities, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The team ensures the integrity of financial data and provides insights that drive business decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
- Lead the accounting function across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAPs.
- Supervise and develop a team of accounting professionals across jurisdictions.
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
M&A Activities
- Provide accounting leadership in M&A transactions, including due diligence, purchase price allocation, and post-merger integration.
- Collaborate with legal, tax, and corporate development teams to assess financial implications of potential deals.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting of acquired entities.
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems.
Strategic Contribution
- Support strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and scenario analysis.
- Contribute to the annual planning and budgeting process.
- Stay informed on changes in accounting standards and assess their impact on the business.
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in M&A accounting, including due diligence and integration.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with multinational group consolidations.
- Fluency in English; Italian is a strong asset.
- Experience in the asset management or financial services industry.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
