A leading consulting firm specializing in restructuring is seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Director or Managing Director to co-lead its Creditor Committee Services offering. This high-impact leadership role is based in New York and will work in close partnership with the Head of the New York Office. The ideal candidate will bring deep restructuring expertise, a strong client-facing presence, and a proven ability to lead complex engagements involving official and ad hoc creditor committees.

The role involves direct interaction with top-tier attorneys, financial advisors, and other restructuring professionals, and offers the chance to build a team, drive business development, and lead high-profile engagements from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Engagement Leadership
- Lead creditor committee engagements from appointment through plan confirmation and emergence.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the committee, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate creditor communications and consensus-building through strategic insights and financial clarity.
Case Execution
- Conduct in-depth financial and operational analyses of debtor businesses.
- Evaluate Chapter 11 plans of reorganization, disclosure statements, and related court filings.
- Prepare committee reports, recovery analyses, valuation summaries, and negotiation materials.
- Assess restructuring alternatives, business viability, and inter-creditor dynamics.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new opportunities in the restructuring space.
- Leverage experience and creativity to engage top unsecured creditors, often using limited public information and court dockets.
- Develop and deliver compelling pitch materials to secure new mandates.
Internal Collaboration
- Collaborate across teams to bring firm-wide capabilities to each engagement.
- Support senior leadership in practice development, team building, and mentorship.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in creditor committee advisory, ideally within a restructuring consultancy, investment bank, or legal environment.
- Strong understanding of Chapter 11 processes, creditor rights, and committee dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments in distressed situations.
- Expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and the development of professional-grade materials (e.g., pitch decks, recovery models, memos).
- Exceptional communication and client management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced credentials such as an MBA, JD, or CFA are preferred.
