About the Position: The firm is seeking a Trading System Software Engineer to improve its real-time automated trading system. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical skills, be a creative problem solver, clear communicator, and a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Work under general direction from senior management.
- Collaborate with financial engineering and trading colleagues to understand objectives and requirements.
- Design and implement complex real-time trading systems.
- Provide production system support, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Required Skills:
- Expert in C++ and object-oriented design; familiar with modern C++, STL, design patterns, and distributed computing.
- Knowledge of network and multi-threaded programming in a Linux environment.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including complex queries.
- Proficient in Python.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing technical documentation, training users, and interacting with upper management.
- Flexible self-starter, able to multi-task and work under pressure.
Required Background:
- 3-5 years of large-scale C++ development experience.
- Degree in computer science or a related field.
Desirable Background and Skills:
- Experience with electronic trading systems.
- Familiarity with statistical concepts such as regression and time series analysis.
