Account Manager
Overview:
A respected organization is seeking a Senior Account Manager to join its Employee Benefits team, with a focus on serving public sector clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of government-sponsored benefit programs, collective bargaining environments, and the unique needs of municipalities, school districts, and other public entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of public sector clients, acting as the primary point of contact for all benefits-related matters.
- Lead the annual renewal and marketing process for group health and welfare plans.
- Provide strategic guidance on plan design, funding strategies, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze claims data and utilization trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve plan performance.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Conduct employee education sessions and open enrollment meetings tailored to public sector audiences.
- Stay informed on relevant legislation and compliance requirements impacting public sector benefits (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, PEPRA).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits account management or consulting.
- Demonstrated experience working with public sector clients (e.g., cities, counties, school districts).
- Strong knowledge of group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
- Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and unionized environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Active Life & Health insurance license required.
