About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a fast-growing Managing General Agent (MGA) seeking a Vice President of E&S Property to lead and expand its Excess & Surplus property portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned underwriting professional who combines deep technical expertise with a strong track record of team leadership and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead underwriting strategy and execution for the E&S Property book of business
- Manage and mentor a team of underwriters; drive performance and development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and key distribution partners
- Evaluate, price, and structure complex property risks across a broad spectrum of industries
- Drive profitable growth through disciplined underwriting and portfolio management
- Collaborate with executive leadership on product development, appetite expansion, and market strategy
- Monitor market trends, CAT exposure, and portfolio performance to optimize results
Qualifications
- 7+ years of E&S Property underwriting experience (10+ preferred)
- Proven experience in a people leadership or management role
- Strong understanding of E&S market dynamics, pricing, and risk selection
- Established broker relationships within the Southeast region
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale a profitable book of business
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree required; CPCU or similar designations a plus
