Sponsor Finance Relationship Manager

Our client, a boutique commercial bank, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fund Finance Relationship Manager to join their growing Commercial Banking team. This role focuses on originating, structuring, and managing credit relationships with private equity, venture capital, and other investment funds in the Lower Middle Market. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in fund finance, particularly in working with sponsors, fund-backed borrowers, and capital call facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
* Business Development: Proactively source and cultivate new fund finance relationships through networking, referrals, and market outreach in the Greater NYC area.
* Credit Structuring: Analyze fund financials, assess credit risk, and structure financing solutions tailored to fund clients.
* Product Expertise: Originate and manage a range of fund finance products, including but not limited to:
* Capital Call Facilities
* NAV-Based Lending
* Hybrid Facilities
* Subscription Lines
* Specialized Lending: Identify and execute opportunities in sponsor finance, with a strong understanding of fund structures, investor dynamics, and underwriting principles.
* Portfolio Management: Maintain a high-quality loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory standards.
* Client Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor, delivering tailored financial solutions and cross-selling treasury, deposit, and cash management services to fund clients.
* Collaboration: Partner with the Portfolio Management team and senior leadership to ensure timely and sound credit decisions.
* Market Intelligence: Stay informed on fund finance trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments impacting private capital lending.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or formal credit training preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial banking or fund finance, with a focus on lending to private equity, venture capital, or other investment funds.
* Proven track record in managing fund-related credit relationships and structuring complex transactions.
* Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of fund credit risk and financial modeling.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Self-starter with a client-centric approach and strong business acumen.
