Site reliabiliy engineer
We are partnering with a leading high‑frequency trading firm in Amsterdam to hire a Site Reliability Engineer to join their core infrastructure team. This role sits at the intersection of trading, engineering, and systems reliability, ensuring mission‑critical trading platforms operate with extreme performance, stability, and uptime.
You'll work closely with low‑latency developers, trading teams, and hardware/network engineers to design, operate, and continuously improve highly automated, high‑performance systems.
Key responsibilities
- Own the reliability, scalability, and observability of latency‑sensitive trading systems
- Design and maintain highly automated infrastructure across on‑prem and/or hybrid environments
- Build and improve monitoring, alerting, and incident‑response frameworks for real‑time systems
- Reduce operational risk through SLOs, error budgets, and post‑incident analysis
- Work closely with development teams to improve system design, deployment, and resiliency
- Maintain and optimize Linux‑based systems running performance‑critical workloads
Required experience
- Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Experience running production‑critical systems (financial services, trading, large‑scale platforms, or similar)
- Deep knowledge of Linux, networking, and system internals
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, custom tooling)
- Scripting/programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash
- Experience with automation and configuration management (Terra form, Ansible, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and comfort operating in high‑pressure environments
Nice to have
- Exposure to low‑latency or trading systems
- Experience in on‑prem / bare‑metal environments or hybrid infra
- Knowledge of time‑sensitive systems (networking, latency, clock sync, performance monitoring)
- Prior experience in HFT, market making, exchanges, or prop trading
