Private Equity Associate
Selby Jennings is representing a Kansas City-based private equity firm seeking a talented and driven Associate to join its investment team. The firm is a generalist investor, with a portfolio spanning industries such as consumer, business services, industrials, residential and commercial services, restaurants, and sports. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing team, gain great exposure across sectors and have a clear path to upward mobility.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the investment lifecycle, including:
- Financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation analysis.
- Industry and market research to identify trends and opportunities.
- Due diligence on target companies, including analysis of performance, products, customers, vendors, and competitive positioning.
- Transaction execution, including preparation of bid letters and investment committee materials.
- Portfolio monitoring and performance tracking post-investment.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, or business.
- 1-3 years of experience in:
- Private equity
- Investment banking
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
