Overview:
Leading health plan is seeking a skilled Medicare Actuary to provide critical analytical expertise that drives pricing strategies and reserve-setting decisions. This role will lead initiatives to evaluate current rate structures, propose enhancements, and coordinate actuarial support across affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior leaders in Product Management and Finance to assess financial performance across business segments, including membership trends and profitability analysis.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve product outcomes in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Manage the development and regulatory submission of premium rates
- Work closely with Risk Adjustment teams to optimize programs that enhance premium revenue for Medicare and related segments.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to actuarial staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- ASA designation required.
- 5-8 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 4 years in Medicare
- Prior experience managing processes or staff is a plus.
- Strong grasp of actuarial principles and methodologies, with exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and analytical tools; MS Office expertise required.
- Experience with data querying tools such as SQL or SAS Enterprise Guide preferred.
