A traditional asset manager in Boston is looking to bring on a Hybrid Business Development and Distribution professional. The team you'd be joining focuses on client engagement and business development. The role requires this person to nurture and expand relationships with a broad spectrum of clients, including family offices, RIAs, institutional investors, wealth advisors, consultants, OCIOs, and platform affiliates. You'll be responsible for selling investments in both separate account strategies and a range of pooled investment vehicles (including 40Act, 3c7, UCITS, CIT, and AIF structures). This person will engage with all client segments and primarily collaborate with partners located east of the Mississippi. Frequent travel, especially throughout the Northeast, is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of existing client and partner relationships, working alongside a colleague to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Drive new business development efforts and act as a central point of contact between clients, consultants, advisors, and platform partners.
  • Coordinate meetings, manage data requests, and oversee the RFP process with assistance from a dedicated RFP team.
  • Collaborate regularly with investment strategists to deliver tailored insights and materials to clients, prospects, and consultants.
  • Lead presentations and represent the firm's investment strategies to both current and potential clients.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience within the asset management industry, with a strong foundation in fixed income and institutional investing.
  • Proven ability to build consultative relationships and a genuine enthusiasm for investment management.
  • Strong communication skills-both written and verbal-and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Energetic, optimistic, and collaborative, with a client-centric approach and a passion for contributing to the firm's success.
