Selby Jennings partnering with an expanding prop-trading firm based in Chicago, specializing in electronic option market making strategies.
Due to organizational growth, they are looking to expand and bring on a Director of Finance/Operations - This is a leadership seat working directly with the partners and other leadership directly on the trading floor - Responsibilities include overseeing financial reporting and the month-end close process, working with external partners, supporting the Technology team on process optimization & automation, as well as other key strategic initiatives across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee firm-wide budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting
- Lead the monthly and year-end close process and prepare management reports
- Manage internal reconciliation processes
- Manage relationships with external partners/vendors
- Serve as the Financial Operations Principal for the firm upon completion of the Series 27 (Fin. Reporting, working with external regulators, and coordination with Legal & Compliance teams
Preferred Qualififications:
- **Series 27 & proficiency with Python/SQL a plus**
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- High proficiency in Excel
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
