Selby Jennings is currently partnered with a Fintech in Luxembourg, for a search on a experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO), to join their executive team as an Authorised Director. This role will oversee the second line of defence and ensure robust risk management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an authorized director and member of the executive leadership team.
  • Lead the second line of defence, overseeing risk management, compliance, and internal control functions.
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (CSSF, Banque de France, etc.).
  • Provide strategic risk insights to the board and executive team.
  • Manage and mentor a team of risk and compliance professionals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors.
  • Drive a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management across the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior risk management role within the banking sector; fintech experience is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, ideally in a regulated financial institution.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk governance.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
  • Eligible to serve as an authorized director under regulatory standards.
  • Fluent in both French and English (both on C1 level).
