Position: Associate - Consumer Transaction Management
Overview:
A leading structured finance platform is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate to join its Consumer Transaction Management team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in structured credit, securitization, or ABS transactions who are looking to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Associate will play a key role in managing the transaction closing process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with negotiated deal terms.
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Execution:
- Coordinate all aspects of the transaction closing process, including third-party management, legal entity setup, and internal stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor transaction timelines and proactively manage to meet closing deadlines.
- Understand and adapt to new transaction structures and closing requirements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external counterparties.
- Track expenses and timelines, flagging any deviations from approved budgets or schedules.
- Ensure proper investment of reserve and collection accounts.
Contract & Legal Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure legal documentation reflects negotiated terms.
- Track the status of document negotiations and drive timely execution.
- Identify and escalate legal issues as needed.
- Maintain a well-organized repository of all executed legal documents and engagement letters.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in structured finance, securitization, or related roles (e.g., rating agencies, ABS investment platforms).
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, particularly fixed income and structured products.
- Proficiency in Excel, including experience reviewing or building transaction waterfall models.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; confident in raising issues and driving resolution.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within a team.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with GAAP reporting, securitization structures, and legal documentation review.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or CA are a plus, but not required.
