Our client is an employee-owned investment advisory firm based in Santa Monica, CA. Our client provides investment management and advisory services to institutional clients (e.g., endowments, foundations, pension plans, and select high net worth clients). Our clients' expertise includes investment research, asset allocation, investment policy development, portfolio structure, manager research & selection, and risk management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Our client seeks an investment professional to conduct research and due diligence on fund managers and direct investments across private equity, real estate, private credit.

  • Manager Research: Source, interview, and evaluate new investment managers for private equity, real estate, and private credit portfolios. Provide written documentation of research meetings summarizing the investment thesis and next steps.
  • Co-investment Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on direct co-investment opportunities across private equity, real estate, and private credit.
  • Investment Committee: Present findings and analysis to firms' investment committee.
  • Portfolio Monitoring and Management: Conducting regular updates with investment managers, assessing results and continued suitability for firm portfolios.
  • Business and Operational Review: Assist with operational due diligence on investment managers.
  • Special Projects: Conduct ad-hoc projects as needed, which may include market studies, annual reviews, and other internal or client-related presentations and recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a college degree and 4-7 years of work experience. Knowledge and experience in private equity, private real estate, or private credit is preferred. Candidates must be proactive, detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and have a passion for financial markets and investing. Strong verbal, writing, and analytical skills are required, as well as strong proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Our client is an open and collegial environment where professionals have the opportunity to progress commensurate with their ability.

Compensation:

Total Compensation range is $200K-$300K based on experience. Health and profit-sharing benefits, and discretionary annual bonus included.

Location:

This position is located in our Santa Monica, CA office. Our client offers work from home flexibility, but candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Los Angeles area.
