Senior Data Governance Engineer
A top-tier global investment firm is seeking a Lead Data Governance & Engineering Specialist to join its enterprise technology team. This role is ideal for a seasoned data engineer with a passion for building scalable governance frameworks and improving data quality across complex systems. Role Overview
You'll be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide data governance solutions, including data catalogs, lineage tracking, and quality assurance frameworks. This is a hands-on engineering role that blends technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration. You'll work closely with data management teams, application developers, and business stakeholders to ensure data is reliable, discoverable, and actionable.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy governance tools to enhance data quality, lineage, and accessibility across the organization.
- Define and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures in alignment with enterprise data strategy.
- Build automated data quality checks and integrate them into pipelines and source systems.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators related to data governance.
- Support onboarding of new data assets and maintain governance platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to redesign and optimize data flows and processes.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud-based data engineering (AWS preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (Snowflake, MSSQL, or similar).
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
- Familiarity with DBT and big data pipeline architecture is a plus.
- Proven track record of leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
