VP, Reinsurance Structurer
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Reinsurance Structuring to lead the design, negotiation, and execution of complex reinsurance transactions for our Property & Casualty (P&C) portfolio. This role is critical in supporting capital optimization, surplus relief, and origination initiatives across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in structured reinsurance, a strong understanding of capital management, and a proven track record of delivering innovative risk transfer solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the structuring and execution of reinsurance transactions, including quota share, excess of loss, and bespoke capital relief solutions.
- Originate and evaluate reinsurance opportunities that align with the company's capital strategy and risk appetite.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with actuarial, finance, legal, underwriting, and risk teams to assess transaction feasibility and optimize deal structures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and capital markets participants to stay ahead of market trends and capacity.
- Model and analyze the financial and regulatory impact of reinsurance structures, including RBC, GAAP, and statutory capital implications.
- Support surplus relief initiatives through innovative structuring and negotiation of reinsurance treaties.
- Monitor and report on the performance of reinsurance programs and their impact on capital efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in P&C reinsurance structuring, capital solutions, or related fields.
- Deep understanding of capital relief mechanisms, surplus relief, and regulatory capital frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in originating and executing reinsurance transactions.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; familiarity with actuarial and capital modeling tools is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., ACAS/FCAS, CFA) preferred.
