VP, Internal Audit & Risk - Financial & Product Risks (Japan)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead audit strategy for financial and product risks, with a strong focus on actuarial areas including pricing, valuation, capital adequacy, and assumption governance.
- Build trusted relationships with the Chief Actuary, CFO, CRO, and other senior leaders across Japan-based entities.
- Represent Internal Audit at Board and Audit Committee meetings.
- Stay current on actuarial and financial risk trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate globally to ensure consistent and coordinated audit coverage.
- Leverage data analytics to enhance risk assessments and audit execution.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, including co-sourced actuarial and financial risk experts.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Japanese and English preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in internal audit, risk, or financial management within financial services.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong understanding of financial risk, capital, valuation, and regulatory frameworks.
- Professional certifications (CPA, Actuary, FRM) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MS, MBA) desirable.
This is a hybrid role based in Tokyo, with flexible work arrangements and occasional travel to the U.S.
