Overview
A leading global investment bank is building out a strategic engineering team responsible for developing and supporting critical platform capabilities used across the organization. This group sits at the center of the engineering ecosystem, partnering with a variety of core teams within the firm.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing architecture, and working across a broad set of stakeholders. The team is open to both senior individual contributors and engineering leaders, but all candidates must maintain strong hands-on technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance enterprise-scale software platforms leveraged across multiple business and technology groups.
- Partner closely with cloud, infrastructure, AI/ML, data, and application engineering teams to deliver shared capabilities and services.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, technical strategy, and engineering best practices.
- Develop highly scalable and resilient systems using modern software engineering principles.
- Drive automation, platform improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership within project teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for platform modernization and innovation.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong software development background in Python and/or Java.
- Experience building distributed systems, APIs, microservices, or large-scale enterprise platforms.
- Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Experience working with or supporting AI/ML, Generative AI, or data-driven platforms is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to operate in complex, highly regulated, or large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of software design, system architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across diverse technical teams.
