Trust Director
Our client is seeking an experienced Trust Director to lead their Hong Kong Trust Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of trust and fiduciary services to a portfolio of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, family offices, private banks and intermediaries. This role will provide strategic leadership to the trust administration team while ensuring the highest standards of client service, governance, regulatory compliance and risk management.
The Trust Director will act as a senior relationship manager, trusted adviser to clients, and key member of the Hong Kong leadership team, driving both operational excellence and commercial growth. The role will be responsible for the overall management, development and profitability of the Trust Services business in Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Hong Kong Trust Services team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality fiduciary and trust administration services.
- Develop and implement strategic objectives aligned with the firm's growth plans and regional priorities.
- Drive operational excellence, service consistency and risk management across all trust structures.
- Act as a member of the local leadership team and contribute to broader business initiatives.
- Serve as the senior relationship lead for a portfolio of complex trust, foundation and corporate structures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, family offices, private banks, legal advisers and other professional intermediaries.
- Advise clients on trust administration, succession planning, governance and fiduciary matters.
- Oversee the establishment, restructuring and termination of trust and related wealth structures.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of trust professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and client service excellence.
- Conduct performance reviews, succession planning and talent development initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate resourcing and portfolio allocation across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- STEP qualification strongly preferred.
- Additional qualifications such as HKCGI, CPA, ACCA or ICA would be advantageous.
- 12+ years of trust and fiduciary experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of trust structures, fiduciary governance, succession planning and Hong Kong regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience leading trust administration teams and managing complex client relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen and business development capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent English required; Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be advantageous.
