Trading Systems Engineer (Rust)
A quantitative trading firm is seeking a Trading Systems Engineer to help build and scale a high-performance trading platform supporting live electronic trading across multiple venues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain exchange connectivity, including market data and order management systems
- Enhance and optimize low-latency trading infrastructure and execution systems
- Build and extend core platform components such as OMS, execution engines, and risk controls
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of production trading systems
- Collaborate closely with traders and quantitative researchers to deliver production-ready solutions and trading tools
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Rust, including concurrent and performance-focused applications
- At least 3 years of experience building backend systems in trading, market making, financial markets, or other latency-sensitive environments
- Experience developing exchange connectivity, market data, and trade execution systems
- Strong understanding of system profiling, performance optimization, and debugging
- Ability to work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable engineering solutions
Preferred Skills
- Python experience for tooling and prototyping
- Exposure to quantitative trading, risk management, or pricing systems
- Experience with live trading infrastructure and configuration management platforms
- Background in high-performance or low-latency systems
