Working closely with trading and technology teams, you will develop the systems that power electronic trading operations and contribute directly to the firm's continued growth.
The Role
As a C++ Software Engineer, you will design, build, and optimise mission-critical trading infrastructure where performance, reliability, and scalability are paramount.
You will work on low-latency systems responsible for market connectivity, order execution, and market data processing, partnering directly with traders and quantitative professionals to turn complex models into highly efficient production software.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop ultra-low-latency trading systems in modern C++
- Build and maintain execution engines where microsecond performance matters
- Develop high-throughput market data feed handlers capable of processing large volumes of real-time market data
- Partner closely with quantitative traders to implement pricing and trading models
- Analyse system bottlenecks and continuously improve latency, throughput, and reliability
- Own software throughout the full development lifecycle from design through deployment
- Work extensively within Linux-based production environments
- Contribute to architecture decisions as the Amsterdam technology team continues to grow
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional C++ development experience
- Strong Linux systems programming experience
- Solid understanding of:
- Concurrency
- Multi-threading
- Memory management
- Data structures and algorithms
- Software architecture and design patterns
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
