Senior Funds Lawyer
We're representing one of the finest Swiss management companies in Luxembourg. A lean, high-calibre legal function of four in Luxembourg and two in Geneva, supporting a business with five branches across the EU.
The role Reporting to the General Counsel, you'll act as her senior right hand and take full ownership of the legal remit across the fund range. This is a broad generalist mandate with genuine autonomy, and you'll manage two lawyers alongside a paralegal. It replaces a departing senior lawyer, so the team is looking for someone who can pick up the full workload from day one rather than grow into it.
What you'll do
- Lead the legal work on regulated funds end to end: fund set-ups, restructurings and mergers, and cross-border distribution
- Draft and negotiate the full suite of fund and service provider agreements
- Own the regulatory watch for the team, assessing the commercial impact of incoming regulation and advising the business on how to respond
- Act as the legal point of contact for the CSSF and, for the French range, the AMF
- Support the legal needs of the five EU branches
- Manage, review and develop two lawyers within the team
What they're looking for
- Around 8+ years' post-qualification experience in investment funds, including time trained in a law firm
- Bar admission (any jurisdiction) is important
- Strong Luxembourg regulated funds experience; French fund exposure is a significant advantage
- Demonstrable regulatory watch and advisory experience
- Fluent English and French, including the ability to draft in French, is essential
- Confident operating autonomously and managing others
