Power & Gas Quantitative Researcher
A leading multi‑strategy trading firm is expanding its systematic power & gas pod and is looking for an experienced Quantitative Researcher to drive alpha generation across energy markets. This is an opportunity to work within a team deploying fully systematic strategies across power and gas.
What You'll Do
- Research, design, and develop predictive alpha signals across power and gas markets.
- Build and enhance systematic trading models leveraging medium‑frequency and short‑horizon features.
- Conduct analysis of fundamental, structural, and statistical drivers of energy markets.
- Work closely with the PM to deploy signals into production.
- Perform rigorous backtesting, model validation, and performance attribution across multiple regions and products.
- Contribute to the pod's broader research pipeline, including new datasets, feature engineering, and modelling frameworks.
Profile Requirements
- Experience in alpha research within power and gas markets (essential).
- Strong quantitative and statistical modelling skills (time‑series forecasting, ML methods, factor modelling, regime analysis).
- Hands‑on programming experience in Python.
- Familiarity with energy market microstructure, ISO/RTO dynamics, fundamentals, or commodity derivatives.
