Title: Personal Auto Product Manager
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Compensation: $150k-$175k Base
A well-established and financially strong insurance organization is seeking a Personal Auto Product Manager to join its growing team. This individual will be responsible for managing the performance, profitability, and growth of personal auto products across multiple states while developing and executing pricing, product, and market strategies.
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of state results, influence strategic decision-making, and partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the profitability, growth, and performance of assigned personal auto insurance products and markets
- Develop and execute product, pricing, and underwriting strategies to improve business results
- Analyze portfolio performance, market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to identify opportunities for growth and profitability improvement
- Lead rate, rule, and form filing initiatives while ensuring compliance with state regulatory requirements
- Monitor key performance metrics including loss ratio, retention, premium growth, and overall profitability
- Partner with actuarial, underwriting, claims, compliance, legal, marketing, and technology teams to implement product enhancements and operational improvements
- Manage regulatory communications and support filing, examination, and compliance-related activities
- Evaluate emerging industry trends and opportunities, including telematics, usage-based insurance, rideshare programs, new market expansion, and other product innovations
- Support strategic initiatives focused on product development, operational efficiency, and business growth
- Present recommendations and insights to leadership based on data-driven analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in personal auto insurance product management, pricing, actuarial, underwriting, or a related analytical function
- Strong understanding of personal auto insurance products and market dynamics
- Experience with insurance pricing, product development, and regulatory filing processes
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic business recommendations
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with analytical and visualization tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with SERFF and state filing processes is a plus
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
