Market Risk Analyst - Global Macro Firm
Our client is a boutique global asset management firm with a presence across Asia and Europe, operating a discretionary global macro investment platform focused on institutional investors. As part of continued growth and increasing sophistication in their trading and risk environment, they are hiring a Risk Analyst to join their Singapore office. This is a hands-on role within a lean team, offering broad exposure across risk data, reporting infrastructure, and portfolio-level analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Explore, organise, and maintain historical risk data across internal systems, reports, and ad-hoc sources
- Clean, structure, and reconcile data from databases, emails, and legacy reporting processes
- Develop Python and SQL-based tools to improve data quality, validation, and reporting efficiency
- Support the development and enhancement of risk models at both strategy and portfolio levels
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Risk, Technology, and Portfolio Management teams to validate assumptions and ensure consistency across systems
- Assist in building scalable and auditable risk reporting frameworks
- Maintain clear documentation and contribute to establishing internal data governance standards
- Support ongoing risk monitoring processes and ad hoc analytical requests from senior stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in market risk, quantitative analysis, or risk management within asset management, hedge funds, or financial institutions
- Proficiency in Python and SQL (e.g. MSSQL/MySQL) for data analysis and tooling
- Comfortable working with large, unstructured datasets and translating them into actionable outputs
- Experience working in a lean, fast-paced environment with high ownership
