Fundamental L/S Investment Analyst | Hedge Fund
Selby Jennings has partnered with a 1.5bn USD single CIO hedge fund in seeking a fundamental investment professional to join their team in Hong Kong. This role will mainly cover the Greater China market, with flexibility to cover other geographies as well, and will be responsible for conducting fundamental research in generating actionable L/S investment ideas. They are currently interested in individuals with experience or exposure covering Consumer, Tech (Semis), and/or Healthcare sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis, including relevant industry trends, competitive landscape, etc.
- Monitor and evaluate macroeconomic factors affecting relevant sectors.
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast company performance and market trends.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to portfolio manager / CIO.
- Stay updated on industry news, regulatory changes, and emerging trends.
Requirements:
- Candidates should possess knowledge and exposure investing in Consumer, Tech, and/or Healthcare sectors.
- 5+ years of experience in equity research and investment functions, with relevant coverage experience for one or more of these sectors.
- Preference for candidates with recent buy-side experience investing in public market equities, and the ability to generate actionable Long and Short ideas.
- Expertise in the Greater China market considered a strong advantage.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using financial software and tools, with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
