The Opportunity
A leading financial services organisation is looking for an experienced Operational Resilience Manager to help strengthen and mature its operational resilience capabilities across the business.
This is a key first-line role focused on ensuring critical business services remain resilient, regulatory requirements are met, and operational risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed. You will work closely with business, technology, operations, and risk stakeholders to embed resilience into everyday decision-making and strategic initiatives.
This position offers the opportunity to influence how resilience is implemented across products, services, technology platforms, third-party providers, and business processes within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Operational Resilience
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of the Operational Resilience Framework
- Ensure resilience principles are embedded throughout business operations and technology services
- Contribute to resilience governance, policies, standards, and procedures
- Help drive continuous improvement of resilience practices across the organisation
- Support resilience reporting activities and provide visibility of key risks, issues, and trends
Risk Management
- Identify, assess, monitor, and report resilience risks affecting critical business services
- Escalate material resilience concerns and operational vulnerabilities where required
- Evaluate potential impacts of disruptions on business operations and customer services
- Support risk assessments and control reviews related to operational resilience
- Promote effective risk management practices across the business
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders
- Translate complex resilience and regulatory requirements into practical business outcomes
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple functions
- Challenge and influence decision-making to improve resilience outcomes
- Provide guidance on resilience best practices and industry expectations
Product, Process & Technology Review
- Review new and changing products, services, processes, and technology initiatives from an operational resilience perspective
- Assess proposed solutions to ensure resilience requirements are considered from the outset
- Provide constructive challenge and recommendations where resilience gaps are identified
- Work closely with change, project, and technology teams to ensure resilience is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle
Resilience Planning & Testing
- Support the development and maintenance of resilience strategies and plans
- Assist with resilience scenario planning and testing activities
- Evaluate resilience performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Help ensure resilience plans remain effective and fit for purpose as the business evolves
- Support lessons-learned exercises following incidents, disruptions, or testing activities
Regulatory & Governance
- Support compliance with operational resilience regulatory requirements
- Maintain awareness of evolving industry regulations and standards
- Contribute to governance activities and resilience reporting processes
- Ensure resilience practices align with organisational risk frameworks and control requirements
- Promote a strong culture of accountability, risk awareness, and operational excellence
Required Experience
- Experience within Operational Resilience, Operational Risk, Technology Risk, IT Risk, Business Continuity, or a similar discipline
- Experience working in a regulated financial services environment
- Strong understanding of operational resilience principles and industry best practices
- Experience working with business leaders, technology teams, and risk functions
- Ability to balance commercial objectives with risk and resilience requirements
- Experience influencing and engaging stakeholders across multiple levels of an organisation

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of:
- Operational Resilience frameworks and methodologies
- DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act)
- Financial services regulatory environments
- IT service management and service delivery practices
- Technology infrastructure and critical technology services
- Operational risk management frameworks
