Overview
A leading investment bank is seeking an Associate or Vice President to join its FX Structuring team in London. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales and Trading teams to design, price, and deliver innovative foreign exchange and cross-asset hedging solutions for a broad client base across both Institutional and Corporate segments.
This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong quantitative and technical background, coupled with a genuine passion for financial markets, macroeconomics, and FX strategy. The position offers significant client interaction and exposure to a diverse range of hedging, investment, and risk management solutions across G10 and Emerging Market currencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop bespoke FX hedging and investment solutions for Corporate and Institutional clients.
- Partner closely with FX Sales teams to identify client opportunities and deliver tailored derivative strategies.
- Work alongside Trading desks to structure, price, and execute FX option and derivatives transactions.
- Utilise macroeconomic, quantitative, and technical market analysis to generate client ideas and strategic recommendations.
- Translate complex market views into practical hedging and investment solutions.
- Support the development of innovative structured products across vanilla and exotic FX derivatives.
- Produce client-facing marketing materials, trade ideas, market commentary, and educational content.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and roadshows, acting as a technical expert on FX markets and derivative solutions.
- Assist with risk analysis, scenario modelling, back-testing, and product performance assessments.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to support transaction execution and product governance.
- Monitor market developments, central bank activity, and geopolitical events to identify opportunities and risks for clients.
Candidate Requirements
- 2-6 years of experience within FX Structuring, FX Strategy, Quantitative Research, FX Derivatives Sales, or a closely related Markets function.
- Strong understanding of FX options, forwards, swaps, and structured derivative products.
- Demonstrable knowledge of FX markets, macroeconomic drivers, and client hedging requirements.
- Strong technical and analytical skillset with the ability to interpret and communicate complex market dynamics.
- Experience generating market views through fundamental, quantitative, and/or technical analysis.
- Ability to articulate strategic recommendations to both sophisticated institutional investors and corporate treasury clients.
- Strong quantitative background with advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Python, VBA, SQL, or other programming languages is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Physics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience covering both Institutional and Corporate client segments.
- Exposure to systematic FX strategies, volatility products, or automated hedging solutions.
- Knowledge of accounting and regulatory considerations impacting corporate hedging programmes.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and derivatives pricing platforms.
- CFA, FRM, or equivalent qualifications would be viewed favourably.
