Company Summary: A rapidly growing scientific research and technology organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead and evolve its finance function. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in building scalable processes, driving operational improvements, and contributing to strategic decision-making as the company grows. The ideal candidate is hands-on, solutions-oriented, and motivated to take ownership of their function while growing alongside a dynamic, innovation-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end accounting close, including core operational areas such as receivables, payroll, and inventory, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Drive operational efficiency and strategic decision making by improving accounting processes, supporting forecasting and scenario planning
- Prepare and deliver clear, insightful financial reports that translate complex data into meaningful business context for leadership
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, FAR, and other applicable accounting and financial requirements
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in accounting or audit and management
- CMA or CPA is preferred
- Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial planning, budgeting and analytical modeling
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks
- Demonstrated communication, leadership and strategic skills
