Valuation Specialist

A newly established entity within a well-regarded investment firm in Luxembourg is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Fund Controller to support the CEO in building and scaling operations. The entity currently manages 8 funds (AIFs and UCITS) and is backed by the main organization, which provides support across several processes. The Fund Controller will play a pivotal role in setting up and overseeing Finance, Valuation, and Fund Administration functions, while also acting as a strategic sparring partner to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance & Fund Accounting

    • Oversee financial operations for AIFs and UCITS, including NAV oversight, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
    • Ensure accurate and timely fund accounting in collaboration with outsourced service providers.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the entity.
  • Valuation

    • Lead valuation processes for all managed funds, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
    • Liaise with valuation agents and auditors to ensure consistency and transparency.
  • Fund Administration

    • Coordinate fund lifecycle activities including onboarding, reporting, and investor communications.
    • Manage relationships with third-party administrators, custodians, and other service providers.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance and support the implementation of governance frameworks.
  • Strategic Support

    • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, contributing to strategic decisions and operational setup.
    • Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives including IT, procurement, and process optimization.
    • Drive continuous improvement and scalability of finance and fund administration processes.

Profile

  • Proven experience in fund control, finance, or fund administration within the asset management or investment fund industry.
  • Strong understanding of AIF and UCITS structures, Luxembourg regulations, and fund operations.
  • Comfortable working in a startup-like environment with a hands-on, flexible approach.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., French or German) are a plus.
