Senior Index Product Strategist
About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to join a leading global index solutions provider. This role focuses on driving index development for the APAC region, covering the full lifecycle from idea generation and simulation to index construction, analytics, and commentary. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualize and launch innovative indices, while supporting the expansion of index adoption across ETFs in Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of index development, including idea generation, simulation, construction, analytics, and commentary.
- Present proposals, scenario analyses, and thematic content tailored to institutional and retail audiences.
- Draft and maintain detailed index methodologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Partner with operations teams to ensure smooth governance and ongoing management of indices.
- Analyze large datasets across markets to design indices that meet client and business objectives.
- Stay informed on industry trends in asset management, ETFs, ESG, and climate investing to drive product innovation.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in index product development, management, or research within an index provider or investment bank.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to solve complex problems efficiently.
- Proficiency in Python and advanced MS Office; familiarity with data vendors such as Refinitiv, FactSet, and Bloomberg.
- Solid understanding of index strategies, corporate actions, and regulatory processes related to indices.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with sophisticated clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of ESG and climate investing is highly desirable.
- High attention to detail, proactive approach, and ability to work under pressure.
- Advanced degree in STEM, Finance, or Economics preferred.
- Fluency in Mandarin is required for the role.
