As part of this effort, the company established a Data Science Lab (DSL) to reimagine insurance through emerging technologies and rapid advances in AI. The DSL accelerates the shift to data-informed decision-making and enables innovation by quickly testing, scaling, and deploying state-of-the-art AI.
The organization is seeking a Senior Data Scientist - Agentic AI, a highly skilled individual contributor with deep expertise in AI/ML and a proven ability to translate advanced research into enterprise-ready solutions. This role centers on designing, deploying, and scaling agentic AI systems, large language models (LLMs), and intelligent automation tools that transform business operations and customer engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement agentic AI solutions to automate complex workflows, enhance decision-making, and improve user experiences.
- Operationalize LLMs and generative AI to interpret unstructured data such as contracts, claims, medical records, and customer interactions.
- Build autonomous agents and multi-step reasoning systems that integrate with core platforms to deliver measurable impact.
- Collaborate with data engineers and AIOps teams to ensure models are scalable, robust, and production-ready.
- Translate research in agentic AI, reinforcement learning, and reasoning into practical applications for underwriting, claims, servicing, and risk assessment.
- Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to define use cases, design solutions, and measure ROI.
- Contribute to the Data Science Lab by creating repeatable frameworks for agentic AI development and deployment.
- Mentor junior data scientists and help standardize AI/ML practices across the organization.
Qualifications:
- PhD with 2+ years or Master's with 4+ years of experience in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI modeling and development.
- Strong theoretical foundation in probability and statistics.
- Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and LangGraph.
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, optimization, and statistical modeling.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines and leadership levels.
- Proven track record of mentoring and providing technical leadership within data science teams.
