Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to support the enhancement of a Java-based trading platform within a leading hedge fund. This role involves working closely with developers, traders, and operations teams to gather requirements, document workflows, and ensure the successful delivery of platform upgrades focused on performance, reliability, and trade lifecycle optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements.
• Analyze current trading workflows and identify areas for improvement.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications for development teams.
• Support testing and validation of new platform features and enhancements.
• Facilitate communication between technology and trading teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, ideally within trading environments.
• Strong understanding of Java-based systems and trade lifecycle processes.
• Experience working with OMS/EMS platforms and trading workflows.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Charlotte 3 days per week.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to low-latency trading systems.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol and market data feeds.
• Experience in agile environments and Jira/Confluence.
