Quantitative Research Engineer

We are currently seeking Research Engineers to join a high-impact team supporting a multi-billion-dollar systematic trading business as part of a team build out. This team works closely with quantitative researchers and traders to build the infrastructure, workflows, and strategy components that enable research at scale. While embedded on the trading desk, this role is fully engineering-focused, solving technical challenges to optimize research productivity and system performance, not performing trading or research functions directly.

We are seeking for candidates who have conducted research in academic, scientific, or industry ML/AI labs, and who bring hands-on experience from quantitative research environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect scalable systems that transform raw alternative data into actionable signals, enabling rapid strategy development and deployment.
  • Design and implement core infrastructure that supports reproducible, high-throughput quantitative research across global markets.
  • Partner directly with senior researchers and trading leads to translate business hypotheses into robust engineering solutions.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of research tooling, from ideation and prototyping to production and performance optimization.
  • Drive technical innovation by identifying bottlenecks in the research process and delivering engineering solutions that materially improve P&L.

Qualifications:

  • Strong coding skills in C++ and Python, with attention to numerical stability and language-specific nuances
  • Excellent software hygiene and code readability practices
  • Solid software architecture and design skills, with the ability to scope and connect systems across business needs
  • Scientific background with working knowledge of statistics and linear algebra
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across trading, research, and engineering teams
  • Familiarity with quantitative trading concepts is a plus
