Equity Research Analyst - Financials (Banks/Insurance) | NYC | Multi-Strat Hedge Fund

Our client, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking a talented Equity Research Analyst to join an established Portfolio Management team focused on the Financials sector, with a particular emphasis on Banks and Insurance coverage.

This is a rare opportunity to work within a high-performing, collaborative team that covers the full breadth of the financials space. The role is based in New York City and offers significant exposure to senior investment professionals and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct deep-dive fundamental research and generate actionable investment ideas across banks and insurance companies.
• Support the PM team in managing long/short equity portfolios, contributing to alpha generation.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic factors impacting the financials sector.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 2-5 years of experience in equity research within a long/short, long bias, or long-only investment environment.
• Strong sector expertise in banks or insurance.
• Demonstrated ability to generate investment ideas and communicate them effectively.
• Experience on the sell-side only will not be considered suitable for this role.
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious.
