Director of Underwriting - Health

A multi-employer trust is hiring a Director of Underwriting to lead underwriting strategy and financial analysis across group health benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability. This is a high-impact leadership role with both strategic and operational responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

• Lead underwriting and financial analysis for self-funded group health plans
• Oversee prospect and renewal underwriting across multiple lines of coverage
• Manage and mentor a small team of underwriting professionals
• Collaborate with actuaries, finance, and vendors to ensure pricing accuracy and data integrity
• Support strategic initiatives for multi-employer and church plan clients
• Drive process improvements and reporting enhancements

What We're Looking For:

• 10-15 years of experience in group health underwriting
• Deep knowledge of pricing methodologies, plan design, and risk assessment
• Experience with multi-employer trusts and managed care programs
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree required (Actuarial Science, Finance, Math, or related field preferred)
