Role Overview
The Enterprise Risk Director will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the firm's enterprise risk management (ERM) framework in Singapore. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the firm's operations, reputation, and regulatory compliance, while enabling strategic growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Strategy & Framework
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ERM framework tailored to Singapore's regulatory environment and aligned with global standards.
- Define risk appetite and tolerance levels in collaboration with senior leadership.
Governance & Oversight
- Lead the local Risk Committee and serve as a key advisor to the Board and Executive Team on risk-related matters.
- Ensure effective governance structures and reporting mechanisms are in place.
Risk Identification & Mitigation
- Identify, assess, and monitor strategic, operational, financial, compliance, and reputational risks.
- Oversee the development of risk mitigation strategies and controls across business units.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with MAS guidelines, including the Securities and Futures Act (SFA), AML/CFT regulations, and internal control standards.
- Act as liaison with MAS and other regulatory bodies, managing inspections and audits.
Internal Controls & Monitoring
- Establish robust internal control systems and conduct regular risk assessments and audits.
- Maintain risk registers, KRIs, and incident escalation protocols.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with first and second lines of defense to embed a strong risk culture.
- Provide training and awareness programs to promote risk-conscious behavior across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise risk management, preferably within financial services or investment firms.
- Proven track record in setting up or leading ERM functions in regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of Singapore's regulatory landscape, including MAS guidelines and SFA requirements.
- Experience engaging with regulators and external auditors.
- Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
