Senior Fund Controller
A leading investment services firm specializing in alternative investment funds is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fund Controller to join its Luxembourg-based Alternative Asset Administration team. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations and reporting of a diverse portfolio of alternative investment structures, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and debt funds.
Working within a collaborative team of five professionals, the Senior Fund Controller will be expected to contribute to a high-performance culture, demonstrating both strong teamwork and the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end fund accounting and financial reporting process for a portfolio of alternative investment funds.
- Review and validate NAV calculations, investor reporting, capital calls, and distributions.
- Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
- Ensure compliance with Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS, and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., CSSF).
- Support the onboarding of new funds and clients, including setup of fund structures and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, compliance, investor relations) to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) are a plus.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in fund accounting or financial control, preferably within the alternative investment space.
- Strong knowledge of Luxembourg fund structures and regulatory environment.
- Proficiency in fund accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with Investran, eFront, or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French or German is an asset.
- A proactive team player with a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.
