My client is a privately-owned, specialty property and casualty (P&C) insurance company headquartered in New Jersey. They are looking to bring on an actuary to their pricing team.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate business profitability and recommend portfolio optimization strategies
- Design dashboards and key monitoring exhibits to track portfolio metrics and execute strategic initiatives
- Apply actuarial methodologies to solve complex business problems across Property and Casualty insurance products
- Price large commercial property accounts using various actuarial pricing methods
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team to formulate and support business strategies
- Develop innovative solutions independently and contribute to team projects
- Build and enhance tools and models to improve business processes
- Mentor and provide training to junior analysts
- Lead and manage large-scale projects involving multiple disciplines
Qualifications:
- ACAS/FCAS designation
- 5-10 years of actuarial experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in Property Pricing, ideally with Binding Authority experience
- Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and propose creative solutions
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Programming knowledge (e.g., VBA, SQL, Python, Tableau) preferred
- Ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing large-scale projects is a plus
